Customizable Snap Hinge
thingiverse
This is a snap together hinge that you can add to your projects with ease. The Customizer lets you adjust the tolerances and measurements so they fit perfectly with your printer's accuracy and project needs. I've already tested this out on the Kerrby printer at The Bellingham Foundry Makerspace, and it works great. To get the best results, print without supports. In the future, the code might need a little cleaning up, but don't worry - updates won't affect how well it works. Take a look at the photo to see the hinges I made with these settings: Large hinge on the left: * $fn = 70 * tabThickness = 2 * tabWidth = 6 * tabSeperation = 3 * tabTolerance = 0.5 * pivotTolerance = 2 * directDiameter = 5 * indentWidth N/A * diameterOrWidth = 0 - Use ball Diameter * ballTolerance = 0.3 * backLength = 5 * ballRatio = .3 Small hinge on the right: * $fn = 70 * tabThickness = 1.75 * tabWidth = 4 * tabSeperation = 2 * tabTolerance = 0.5 * pivotTolerance = 2 * directDiameter N/A * indentWidth = 3.2 * diameterOrWidth = 1 - Use indent width * ballTolerance = 0.25 * backlength = 3 * ballRatio = .3
