Customizable Slide Rule Ring

Customizable Slide Rule Ring

This is a slide rule that you can wear on your person to crunch one- or two-digit arithmetic, or simply to fidget with. It works best with seximal/senary (base-6) numerical base because of the small circumference and the comparatively large points (and was indeed created to provide a computational tool for seximal.net).Please use the customizer to generate a ring model suitable to your finger(s) of choice. I personally find thumb preferable as it affords a better view of more of the circumference, and is the largest-circumference option for marginally better precision when calculating with the rule. For best results, tune the customized model to the properties of your printer (especially thickness and point protrusion), but it should be quite forgiving.Print two: one as generated in the model, one flipped in the X or Y axis. This gives you a C and a D scale that face one another, with which you can perform multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. No points are labeled because of space and resolution limitations. One simply learns to identify which points have what value -- I find this is not difficult with these rings and a seximal base. The .stl file included in the project simply provides the preview image for the project, and will likely not fit your finger! The series of numbers in the filename are the parameters used to generate the model.
