This key generator tool is modified to include an option for creating a compatible 'key header' with Keyport Slide Blades. Note that it prints a plastic key, optimized at 0.29mm layers and only 7 layers thick. Handle with care as it can break easily. To use the tool, input your desired code and select the key style. A nail file might be handy for removing excess plastic. Leave the code blank to generate a random key. Please exercise caution when sharing copies of printed keys online. The KeyCutCode reads from left to right, adjusting the cut depth from 0 to 9 (or 0 to 6 with Kwikset defaults). Use the 'top' view in customizer to fine-tune the values. Multiple prints may be needed for an accurate fit, but they are quick and filament-efficient. For first attempts, use the straight key header to save time and filament. Post-printing, buff and round off the tip of the key using a nail file for a smooth feel. Buff the front and back sides too, especially on the house key's upper half of the back side for a perfect fit. The tool can also reproduce safe keys after some buffing around the outside of the cylinder pin slots.
