Customizable Simple Shaft Coupler
thingiverse
I required a simple set-screw shaft coupling mechanism, yet amazingly, I couldn't locate a customizable option on Thingiverse, so I constructed one. (Note: if you want a clamp-style shaft coupler, examine this item by toxnico). Printing Parameters Rafts: It Doesn't Matter. Supports: None. Post-Printing Operations This coupler should be employed in conjunction with TWO set screws per shaft, each positioned at 90-degree angles relative to one another. Four holes are provided for each shaft in case one is damaged beyond repair, but under normal circumstances, no more than two screws should be inserted per shaft. If you do install more screws than that, the shaft may pivot on the points of the two opposing screws rather than being firmly pressed against the side of the coupler as it should be. If weight asymmetry is a concern, use two holes on one side for one shaft and two holes on the opposite side for the other shaft.
