Customizable Satisfying Twist Container
thingiverse
This is a highly customizable version of Make Anything's Satisfying Twist Container in OpenSCAD, offering complete control over shape, height, radius, smoothness, and twist settings for an unparalleled level of customization. The generated models are solid and must be printed in Vase Mode to achieve the desired effect. In Cura, printing these models requires switching to 'Spiralize Outer Contour', a feature that currently has some bugs, particularly with earlier versions such as 2.4. To ensure successful prints, users need to adjust line width (nozzle size), deviation (gap between parts), and bottom layer height according to their specific printer settings. The default deviation of 0.3 mm provides a fairly tight fit on larger prints, but this can be changed depending on the part size and desired level of precision. The model includes a base and inner chamfers with high angles (63°) that should print smoothly. The chamfer depth and height can also be customized for specific needs. To customize dimensions and generate STL files, simply open the model in the customizer. This project was heavily inspired by Make Anything's original design. Print Settings: Printer: AluUltimaker2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 0% Notes: Print in vase mode (Spiralize Outer Contour in Cura) and adjust the bottom thickness to ensure the inner parts close up neatly. Cura versions 2.5 and later work perfectly with 'Spiralize Outer Contour', but earlier versions, like 2.4, have a bug that generates artifacts and non-smooth spirals.
