Customizable Rubik's cube core
thingiverse
There are numerous printable Rubik's Cube puzzles available online. Their primary issue lies in their core: often difficult to print or altogether missing from the design, requiring a separate purchase. Additionally, you might need a replacement core for your cube. This fully printable and customizable core allows you to choose its size as well as the screw hole dimensions to fit existing screws. The default settings in the customizer, downloadable as an STL file, are based on the QJ 3x3 Candy Core for M3 screws but have been slightly thickened for added strength. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: It's recommended to print with an infill of at least 50% or the core may break. Notes: Print with supports, and avoid rotating the cube during printing. Due to overhanging features, the printer might enlarge the holes on the X and Y axes. You can adjust these settings in the customizer. Post-Printing Insert screws into the center pieces of your cube, possibly requiring a bit of force to secure them. If it breaks, try alternative settings such as enlarging screw holes or outer cylinders or increasing infill density. Making adjustments through trial and error should only take about 15 minutes.
