Customizable Romer-G Keycaps Openscad
thingiverse
One of my initial OpenSCAD projects, I wanted to avoid manually designing every keycap letter, so I imported @Kepwells excellent Romer-G keycap STL and made some adjustments to allow for embossing the lettering onto it. I also recently printed with T-glase PETT for the first time, and I'm thrilled with the results. I've included a picture showing how to position it on the print bed in the slicer (Cura in my case). I used tree supports as well. Be cautious when cutting away the supports, since the Romer-G tabs can snap off if pulled too hard. /*===============================*/ OPENSCAD information This uses the Writescad library by HarlanDMii, and it's included in the download. I've already created WASD keys with lettering on the edge, and the STLs are available for download. There are settings to place the lettering on the top, edge, or both. You can also choose to have a locator bump like on the F and J keys for touch typists. /*===============*/ Future plans I originally had it set up so you could union other STLs onto the key (like a skull or a benchy), but whenever the other STLs were scaled down to fit, they would cause an error. You might be able to scale the STL in Meshmixer first, but at that point, you'd probably just want to merge the two STLs in Meshmixer. Anyway, I hope you like this since Logitech decided to ruin everything by creating their own keycap footprint.
