Customizable RAM Mount Phone Clip

This two-piece phone cradle is compatible with RAM brand mounting hardware. The user had previously purchased a custom-fit cradle along with windshield and handlebar mounts for their old phone. This design incorporates clips that can be fastened to a spare twist-lock mounting plate, allowing the use of new devices with existing mounts. Test iterations were printed to evaluate different options, with the final version featuring no side grips and securely sandwiching the horizontal clip between the vertical clip and the mounting plate. While functional for the user, further customization is possible. This includes parameterized cutout modules for iPhone features like buttons, flash, and connectors, as well as adjustable ridges on the vertical clip based on device dimensions. Printing was done using brown PLA filament on a Printrbot Simple with 0.3 mm layer height, 2 perimeters, 3 top/bottom layers, and 0.2 honeycomb infill.
