Customizable Polygon Morph Vase
thingiverse
A customizable design featuring a faceted container formed by transforming one regular polygon into another's convex hull is available. For instance, the printed sample displays a square base and an octagonal top. You can personalize this container further by adjusting the number of sides for both the bottom and top polygons, their radii to achieve tapered vase effects, setting the desired height, and rotating the top shape relative to the bottom for better alignment. For optimal results, it is recommended to print these solid models with no infill or top layers (around 90% if disabling the latter is not possible). This design is part of a series called Customizable Containers. Attached photos demonstrate the polygon-morph-vase.stl file printed in brown PLA on my Printrbot Simple, using a 0.15 layer height, 6 bottom layers, and "spiral vase" mode (1 continuous perimeter).
