Customizable (parametric) gear (regular / helix / double helix / herringbone)
thingiverse
Simple gear. As customizable as possible. This is my second OpenSCAD/Customizer lesson. Move along, nothing to see here... This one and my other OpenSCAD projects are also on my Github. UPDATE 15.04.2017: Rounding/beveling teeth edges. Technical Notes For people who actually know something about gears OK, so I have no idea about how exactly gear teeth size and/or number should relate to the rest of the gear. I was just learning OpenSCAD. And actually learning was more important than gear itself, so I didn't even look for the technical gear info. Request for fixes If anybody wants to point out any technical problems, like "number of teeth should be x divided by diameter times tooth height minus actual air pressure times color of your socks" or something like that, I'll be glad to correct the script to make it actually useful! Please, comment What may be useful for OpenSCAD designers If you are also learning OpenSCAD, like me, you may find these methods helpful: _pie2d(angle, radius) _minkowskiInside()
