Customizable Mold Form
thingiverse
This customizable plastic frame is designed for creating molds via plaster or RTV casting methods. The two sides can be used independently to form a blank plaster model for carving, while the base securely holds modeling clay for direct RTV molding. A pre-formed sprue can also be added to the base for use with either plaster or RTV. To make a plaster mold, join the sides with rubber bands or tape and place on a flat surface with modeling clay for stability; fill with plaster and carve the set plaster into your desired pewter (or other) mold shape. For RTV molds, print the sides and base, form a positive model with clay, wax, or another material on the base plate, join the sides, then pour in RTV to cure. Testing and pictures of the base plate, sprue, and labels will be posted soon after further evaluation.
