Customizable Micro Brushed Quadcopter
thingiverse
This is a customizable frame designed specifically for brushed coreless motor micro quadcopters. The idea behind it started when the original frame on my Blade Nano QX began to show signs of wear and tear. So far, I've focused on designing a mounting area in the center that can securely hold the Blade Nano QX's flight controller. I've ordered a Micro Scisky controller, which will require some adjustments to the design once it arrives. In the meantime, I've flown this frame with 6x15mm motors extensively and found it handles exceptionally well, but haven't yet printed a version with prop guards attached. As an inexperienced pilot, I tend to bump into things frequently, so I'll be sticking with the Nano frame until it finally gives out (again!). My initial prints were made using ABS, but I've since upgraded to Taulman 910 nylon, which has proven to be more rigid and less prone to damage. If you're planning to use ABS, you may need to increase the "Motor Mount Thickness" to compensate for its fragility. The photo showing prop guards is actually equipped with 8.5x20mm motors, but unfortunately, the Blade Nano QX flight controller couldn't handle them. At just 4% throttle, the copter shoots up to the ceiling and becomes completely unusable. Given that my Micro Scisky flight controller will likely take a few weeks to arrive, I decided to upload this design to Thingiverse in case anyone else needs a customizable frame for their Blade Nano QX!
