Fully Customizable Magnetic Screw Tray Version 3.0 The magnetic screw tray is a fully customizable design that allows users to create their own unique trays for organizing screws and other small parts. Designing the tray involves using any common round/cylindrical neodymium magnet, which provides a strong hold on the screws. Compartment size is fully configurable, allowing users to create as many compartments as they need. The number of magnets per compartment can also be customized, with options for one, two, or four magnets per compartment. A lid option is available to secure the contained screws/nuts, providing an extra layer of protection against loss or damage. The design and rounding of the tray can be influenced in many ways, allowing users to create a unique look that suits their needs. Version History 2018-12-09 Version 1.1: A new parameter called "LidCutout" was added, which allows users to create round cutouts on the side walls of the lid. This feature makes it easier to remove the lid from the box and provides a more secure hold on the screws. 2018-12-11 Version 1.2: Magnetic Lids are now possible! Three new parameters were added in the Section "Magnetic Lid": LidMagnet - if set to "Yes", four holes will be placed in both the lid and the box/tray to hold the magnets. LidMagnetDia - defines the diameter of the small magnet used to hold the lid to the box. LidMagnetDepth - defines the height of the magnet (=depth of the hole). 2018-12-14 Version 1.3: The shape of the support cylinder for the lid magnets was improved to better blend into the compartment shape. 2018-12-15 Version 2.0: Major code rewrite. Lots of smaller improvements and fixes were made. 2018-12-18 Version 2.1: New parameter LidType can be used to choose between three options: None: No lid SlideOver: Slide-over lid that slides over the outside walls of the box Notched: Notched-lid that slides over a "notch" without increasing width/length 2018-12-22 Version 2.2: Text is now available! Users can add text to any or all of the box sides. Choose from any Google font, choose font style and size. Vertical and horizontal alignment, offset, rotation, and text on top and inside lid are also available. 2018-12-22 Version 2.2: Parameter plausibility checking was improved to avoid non-working parameter combinations. InnerRadius, OuterRadius, and WallThickness were checked for plausibility. Lots of other internal code enhancements were made. 2018-12-18 Version 2.1: New Options for Parameter LidCutout can be used to decide where the round cutouts on the lid will be created. No On X-Axis On Y-Axis On Both Sides 2018-12-22 Version 2.2: Parameter plausibility checking was improved to avoid non-working parameter combinations. InnerRadius, OuterRadius, and WallThickness were checked for plausibility. Lots of other internal code enhancements were made. Tips: Add some tolerance to your magnet size. For an 8x1.5mm I am actually using 8.2 x 3mm. 3 is maybe a bit much, but due to the bridges hanging a little bit, this can compensate for that, and the magnets will be recessed a bit more in the bottom part. If you plan on printing the optional Lid, make sure you use enough "Height" for the compartments (needs to be able to contain all the screws inside). Share your makes if you like it!
