by Cpayne3d June 24, 2019 Licensed as Creative Commons, Share Alike, Non-Commercial This project was designed to hold a Logitech C270 web cam for my Octoprint server. Other printable camera mounts were either too small or could not hold my C270 camera correctly. So I created this version. Shout out to the creator of this project https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:958176 as it was exactly what I needed, however it was too small and I found that I could not source the small screws for it, after I printed it. Required: 5 - 2"x 6/32nds machine screws (or set your screw sizes below) 5 - 6/32nds locking washers 5 - 6/32nds washers 1 - 6/32 x 3/4" machine screw (camera screw) 1 - 1"x 8/32nds machine screw + nut (attach the base) 4 - adhesive silicon feet (drawer bumpers) Uploaded project files: cp_camera_mount.scad - the SCAD source file cp_camera_mount_complete.STL - the complete tray of parts. All parts. cp_camera_mount_tester.STL - a printable tester for the fasteners listed above. cp_camera_mount_connectors.STL - just the two connectors. cp_camera_mount_arms.STL - just the arms and bushings (1 pair). cp_camera_mount_base.STL - just the lean version of the base. Customizing this project: Note: parts_h (height of parts) + bushing_h (height) will be added together to determine the Arm screw length as it is affected by this. Arm screw diameter must be smaller than the Arm-end cylinder diameter! Keep it small. Item #1 automatically calculates the width of the base-connector. Printing notes: Use the provided STL files if you can source these fasteners, or print the Fastener Test Strip first! To ensure that your screws will fit! Edit screw sizes in the SCAD file if needed. Remember that PLA shrinks as it cools and this makes screw hole sizes smaller. :^) Print all of the parts by setting "OUTPUT=1", or select individual parts to print using the settings. Print in PLA 15% infill 0.30 resolution 2 shells Install the base converter part on to the base first! Install the camera conversion connector "flat side up". (There are braces on this connector to keep the camera from falling downward due to gravity.) Install a washer under each 6/32nds screw head on the arms. Enjoy this self-standing web cam.
