This sweet parametric lantern prints without any support needed. If you have any issues or suggestions, please share them below. Side notes: - Making the central mesh too fine can cause problems during print time. To resolve this, try scaling up the design or reducing the mesh density. - A hole in the base allows for a candle, LED, or other light source to be placed inside. The hole's radius is currently set at 30% of the lantern's overall diameter but can easily be adjusted in the SCAD file. -The SCAD file was expertly optimized by Bowman, whose creations on Thingiverse can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/bbo/designs -Bowman also suggested adding a foot to the base for added stability. -For best light diffusion results, consider using translucent filament.
