Customizable Knitting Needles

This was my first self-designed item not found in Thingiverse, so I uploaded it. Before building my Ecksbot/Prusa reprap, I worked on convincing my crafty wife that the machine could save us money by creating everyday items. She requested knitting needles, which I knew would be a challenging print. After assembling and using the machine to create various objects, I finally delivered her printed knitting needles to end her joking inquiries. My wife was pleasantly surprised with the results and even used them for knitting. For printing, use no more than 0.2mm layer height (preferably 0.1mm), raft support, especially with tapered tips, a hot heatbed for ABS at 110C, and purchase ABS from repraper.com. The undersides of the tips may be rough due to steep angles and rafting contact, but can be improved with an acetone dip. The endcaps might not fit properly; enlarge the holes slightly or use epoxy for a tighter fit.
