Customizable HTC Vive Welding Headgear Bracket
thingiverse
This bracket allows you to attach your HTC Vive VR goggles to the Miller Electric 256174 headgear for welding masks. It's a remix of Thing:1620362 by nw15062. The original model's surfaces didn't quite line up right, resulting in a rough outside appearance once installed. It also seemed a bit too short, causing the googles to be closer to your face than necessary. This remix prints smoothly and was extended by ~1cm, making it customizable if you need the googles to be even further away from your face. The attachment points on the headgear allow for adjustment, so it's better to have it a bit too long rather than too short. (The original model's length is ~72mm.) The current default length of 80mm lets me keep using the forehead strap. Print Settings: Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25% Notes: You'll probably want to print with supports, although removing them can be a real pain. Infill doesn't really matter that much, but I went for 25% to make it sturdy.
