Customizable Holiday Ball
prusaprinters

In the spirit of coming holidays...

(customizer rendering is VERY SLOW, read below)

You can customize number of curves, height and width of the ball (in mm).

The curves smoothness parameter (USE IT ONLY when you done with other parameters) to define how smooth the curves are. BUT with the smoothies definition (60) the rendering will take A LOT OF time (curves = 12, curves smoothness = 60 - took me 20 minutes to render in OpenScad).
Therefore I attached few STL files for you.

I don't think support is needed but because of very small footprint the object disconnected from the bed mid-print even with brim of 4mm. I added support (touching build-plate) with overhang angle=60 and removed most of them with support blocker in Cura (see Cura screen-shot).

Printed on Anet A8 with 50 mm/s speed and 0.2 layer height. Probably on better printer it will be printed smother.

Any suggestions/comments are welcome.

Edit: fn parameter didn't work in customizer, replaced it with curves_smoothness and reuploaded scad file v2.1

Enjoy

Print Settings

Printer:

Anet A8

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20

Filament: Nothing special PLA White

Category: Props
