A computer algorithm produces a hexagonal grid maze through an iterative process of path creation and elimination. The program starts at a central node and constructs pathways outward by selecting adjacent nodes to visit next, ensuring that all possible paths are explored before any dead ends are encountered. As the maze expands, it is continually updated to reflect the most recent discoveries, guaranteeing that no unnecessary or redundant paths are created. When the algorithm reaches a point where further expansion is impossible without creating loops, it backtracks along previously traversed paths until a new pathway can be forged, thus ensuring the creation of a unique and solvable hex-cell maze.
