Customizable Hanging Tool
thingiverse
This project originated as a tool for hanging Christmas lights but evolved into something more versatile and customizable. To assemble it, simply screw this device onto the end of a long pole or handle. Next, carefully thread through the string of lights, wires, and any other necessary accessories before hoisting it up onto a sturdy hook. Rigorous testing has proven that this device can safely secure its contents onto various types of handles. In my experimentation, I successfully attached it to both a broomstick and a sturdy pole obtained from a local hardware store. The included print designs cater to different purposes, featuring a design specifically tailored for hanging lights as well as another suitable for securing up to 5/8in-1.4in wide rings that are no thicker than 1/8in or 3mm. To ensure optimal printing results, I used a .4mm nozzle and maintained a consistent .2mm layer height. I chose 50% infill, initially assuming it was necessary for added strength; however, the final product turned out stronger than expected, suggesting that a reduced infill percentage might have been sufficient. This device heavily relies on the Thread Library from Thingiverse's version http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8793. For convenience, I've included the exact version used in my own print for your reference.
