Customizable Geodesic Dome Connectors
thingiverse
After a friend created a few 3D printed connectors for geodesic domes, I took a closer look and thought "That would be a fantastic parameteric design." So I used this idea to teach myself Scad and have been printing these since. Select the type of geodesic dome you are building (1V or 2V), your strut material dimensions and shape, and this generates hubs and connectors. You can use an online geodesic dome calculator to come up with accurate strut lengths. This design is NOT intended for climbing on or housing - you'd need steel or a similar material to achieve the necessary strength. However, you might be able to cast a mold from these, particularly if you remove the "top" of the brace and adjust the angles. The connectors are labeled in the sockets for angles A and B. If I add 2V or 3V variants, the sockets will be labeled C & D accordingly.
