Customizable G-Clamp with Stress Model

This is a fully customizable parameterized model in Fusion 360 that can be tailored to suit your specific needs. Four different variants are included in this design, but you can easily create any size you require by editing the parameters directly within the Fusion 360 file. Customizing it involves adjusting four key parameters that control the size and shape of the g-clamp, as depicted in the accompanying line drawing. Notably, the length of the screw automatically adjusts when you change the clamp size, allowing for seamless adaptation to different configurations. To save your customized model, right-click on the "Printable Orientation" component and select "Save as STL" from the pop-up menu. Be sure to change the "structure" setting to "One file per body" during this process. When working with large or small models, consider using the parameters to establish the desired proportions before scaling the entire model in Fusion 360 or your preferred slicer software. This ensures that the size of the screw and button remain proportional to the clamp's dimensions. Simulating the g-clamp's behavior is also possible within Fusion 360, as a stress analysis is already set up within the file. However, users may encounter issues with the archive file due to a known bug in Fusion 360. To resolve this problem, navigate to "Simplify" and remove the "Printable Orientation" component from the simulation before running it. Printing the model requires minimal support, thanks to its design featuring 45-degree overhangs and short bridge sections within the threaded hole. For optimal results, we recommend printing with at least three outer perimeters and an infill of 25% or more.
