I've always been on the lookout for a fidget spinner model that can accommodate various combinations of ball bearings and hex nuts, but I never came across one that met my requirements. With multiple types of ball bearings at my disposal, I needed a design that could be adjusted to allow for an extensive range of configurations, including different weights, sizes, and types of ball bearings. I also wanted the ability to add custom text to the spinner itself, as well as a sturdy box to house it in. To achieve this, I created a model that can be tailored to individual preferences. The process is straightforward: measure your ball bearing and weights, select your desired text, enter the necessary values, generate the design, and then print it out. The accompanying box is automatically generated, ensuring a perfect fit for your customized spinner. However, if you decide to use hex nuts as the weight source, please note that you'll need to take precise measurements as shown in the provided image. To make things more manageable, I've limited the model's complexity by incorporating sliders. If you feel adventurous and want to explore further customization options, you can download the code and experiment with it using OpenSCAD. The included "Spinner-22-8-7.stl" file features a standard 3-arm design optimized for 22-8-7 mm ball bearings, complete with center pads, box, and lid.
