Customizable Fence Post Cap

I replaced a rotten top on one of our 4-inch wood fence posts with this customizable cap, which enhances both appearance and structural integrity without replacing the post altogether. The default dimensions provided in the attached files are tailored for a standard 4-inch square wooden post, although actual measurements may vary slightly at 3.5 inches. This design, however, accommodates rectangular posts as well, so it's not limited to squares. You can also personalize this cap using our customizer tool, where you can modify the top bevel angle, eliminate the back section, or even create notches along the sides to fit snugly over existing 2x4s. Furthermore, you can add supports to the sides for added stability. Take a look at some examples in the attached STL files to see how it works. The SCAD file includes an optional round finial that you can include or exclude by setting "sphere_finial_radius" to a non-zero value or zero respectively.
