Customizable Endstop Extender

Customizable Endstop Extender

thingiverse

You likely landed here because your Z-Endstop screw is too short. Although several endstop extenders exist on Thingiverse, most are designed for one printer model or a specific screw diameter. This model is more versatile. Use the Customizer in Thingiverse or download the model and customize it with OpenSCAD to adapt it to your needs. When you choose a tight enough thread diameter, you can carve out a thread using a thread tap as shown in the pictures above. With this model, you can adjust the following settings: * Base Diameter (the bottom of the "elephant foot" of the screw extender) * Thread Diameter (screw thread diameter; for a tight fit, look up your thread's core diameter or reduce the measured screw diameter slightly) * Foot Height (the actual extension of your screw) * Thread Height (how far you can screw the thread inside the extender) * Thickness (minimum material thickness) You can also add ticks to the Screw extender, which proves handy when calibrating the endstop. The model features these options: * Ticks (number of ticks - choose a number that correlates with your thread pitch, for example M3 screws have a pitch of 0.5 mm, so five ticks would give you one tick per 0.1 mm) * Sub Ticks (number of sub ticks per tick) * Tick Height * Sub Tick Height I hope this model meets your needs. It would be an honor to see some of your creations; please share photos.
