I recently bought what's supposed to be the world's top-notch blackboard chalk. It arrived in a crumpled cardboard box, and I assumed someone had already made a case for holding chalk sticks. And yes, they had - but there was a catch. A completely open box on the inside only supports the chalk when it's full - if one piece of chalk is taken out, the rest start to rattle around. So I decided to give the design an upgrade by adding internal compartments that hold one piece of chalk each. I also added a snap-lock for the lid so it stays shut tight.
