Customizable Center Finder
thingiverse
OpenSCAD remix of this nice shape: use the Customiser to make the size you need. Enter data in mm, but the size in inches is also displayed. No need to print that of course! The device's breadth is tied to the diameter of the post at either end. A large diameter post means a better center on rougher surfaces. The Max width parameter defines the innermost gap that the device will be able to work on. I'd suggest a couple of sizes up to your max bed size (diagonal). And a couple of hole diameters depending on whether you'll mark with a scribe or a pencil. This design's disadvantage is that it relies on two edges being nice and flat: - If you have a wobbly, unplaned piece of wood, then you need a design with two parallel edges. - If you have a round object to find the center of, then you need an object with a diagonal scoring line.
