Customizable holder for tablet and phone, easily inserted into the CD slot of a Ford Fiesta 2008-2016 or Ford Ecosport 2013-2016. UPDATE on January 26th, 2017: I added two holes to the base, allowing you to insert metal rods for reinforcement if needed, especially when parking in direct sunlight which can weaken plastic. I also included a base cutting mode so that you can print two halves of the base (a normal half and a mirrored half). This holder consists of three parts: one base and two ends (the two ends are identical). Select "Base" or "End" to generate an STL file for the base part or end part. After printing, plug in the ends on the base so that your tablet or phone fits inside this holder. Then insert it into the CD slot. Both the base and the end can be customized. You can download pre-defined base and end STL files. For older versions, there is one pre-defined base with three types of pre-defined ends, all of which fit onto the pre-defined base. One pre-defined end is for devices 8mm thick (EndT8.stl), another for devices 9mm thick (EndT9.stl), and a third for devices 10mm thick (EndT10.stl). For versions from January 26th, 2017, there are two pre-defined halves of the base - requiring you to print both - and four types of predefined ends with similar naming conventions. When customizing the base and end to fit your device, ensure that they share the same values for BaseWidth, BaseThickness, and BaseHeight so that they can be easily connected. If you still encounter fitting issues, adjust the Tolerance setting. For example, if the holder is too tight, increase the Tolerance slightly. If it's too loose, decrease the Tolerance a bit. Tolerance can even take negative values. If the base obstructs your view of the device screen, consider reducing BaseHeight or increasing EndSpacer. Alternatively, you can add an external spacer using a rubber or cloth cover inside the base. Setting EndSpacer to zero will eliminate any spacers. This holder is designed for easy removal from the CD slot if needed. WARNING: When inserting this holder into the CD slot with a disc inside, you can still play the disc without interfering with the holder. However, do not eject the disc as it may get jammed in the holder. If your base exceeds the height of your printer, you can split it into two halves to print and assemble them separately, as shown in one photograph. I recommend using a 3D printer with a printing height of at least 30cm (probably a delta one) for printing the entire base in one piece, especially when handling larger devices like a 9.7 inch iPad. In new versions, there's an option to cut the base into two symmetric halves. Use BaseCut as "Yes" and BaseMirror as "Yes" to generate the mirrored half and set it as "No" for the normal half. To ensure this holder withstands high temperatures in car interiors under direct sunlight, use a material like ABS which is more resistant than PLA. In new versions, you can reinforce the base by inserting metal rods through the hole, as shown in the last photograph. Specify BaseHoleRadius according to your rod size. Print Settings Printer: Delta type Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm layer thickness Infill: 20% Notes: ABS is a better material than PLA for this application.
