Customizable Cable Lockdown V2
thingiverse
The e-NABLE R&D group seeks a solution to lock down a control line when a finger is positioned, allowing the position to be maintained without requiring tension on the wrist or elbow. For instance, locking fingers around a bike handle for hands-free cycling. This is an ongoing project exploring potential approaches. V2 update features a groove in the base for improved grip on the line when locked down and shortened bracket for better leverage. The design allows customization, as everything should be. Parameters to consider include latch size, pivot offset, lever arm length, pin radius, latch width, sides thickness, latch-base gap, tightness, latch angle, and line radius. Users can choose to generate a row of latches in a single bracket or print specific parts like assembled preview, latch, or base.
