Customizable Cable Chain with Snap-in top
thingiverse
Edit 3/25/3020: Added Interior and Exterior End Pieces. Original Post: I designed a new cable chain after trying several on Thingiverse, but none met my expectations. I decided to create one with thicker walls - at least 2mm thick - which sets it apart from others. The design has two components: the chain link and the clasp. The clasp is printed separately so that users can remove it while running cables and clip it in place when all cables are in. This approach simplifies cable management, making it easier than trying to thread cables through a carrier. I've encountered difficulties with print-in-place cable chains, even with my well-adjusted printer. To overcome this issue, I designed the chain link to be printed one at a time. Since every 3D printer has unique tolerances, printing individual links makes more sense than fine-tuning a single design that might not work for everyone. The STL files provided are for a cable chain with an inner width of 30mm and an inner height of 10mm. If you need a different size, use the OnShape link to adjust the dimensions: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/c6282c018f780bd775847628/w/3c437190b0b4b3f998082817/e/9a98925ea2a298ac1f2d5b68?configuration=height%3D10.0%3Bwidth%3D30.0 For optimal results, the design works best with cable chains that have a width of more than 15mm and a height of over 8mm. Cheers!
