Customizable bottle connector/adapter
thingiverse
There are times when you need to refill a small bottle from a larger one. Instead of carefully balancing the bigger bottle over the smaller one, it's easier just to connect them together. I found an adapter online but it didn't screw on right. Since these bottles were already unstable, I figured I needed something that would securely hold them in place. This lets you create any size and thread adapter to join two bottles of different sizes. You'll need the outer diameter of the threads and the number of threads per inch. A chart helped me figure out the standard it should match up with. With a rough guess at an outer diameter and number of threads per inch, I could select from one of these charts to get the standard. [Standard thread sizes](https://s200.photobucket.com/user/oldtiffie/media/Screw_threads/Screw-thread_form7.jpg.html) I included the adapter that connects large Lubriderm bottles with smaller ones. The OpenSCAD file prints this adapter by default. I printed it without supports and had no issues, but I can't guarantee anything. The OpenSCAD file uses the thread library from [http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/](http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/) which made this a breeze to create.
