Customizable Bottle Cap Container

Customizable Bottle Cap Container

Of all the things the world needs right now, a customizable container designed to fit bottle caps is certainly not one of them. So, I designed one. This container is designed to fit the standard US 1-gallon milk bottle caps, 2-liter pop bottle caps, and even some random fruit juice bottle caps - at least the ones I have access to. I can't guarantee that they'll fit the caps you would otherwise be throwing away but, if they do, then this little baby is here for you! Using OpenSCAD, you can customize the height, diameter, shape, and texture to create a container all your own. Or just use the pre-made STLs I've included. Some might say this is silly. Some might say it's far from polished. Some might even suggest that I should have also designed a matching cap that could be printed rather than forcing the user to dig through their recycling bin to scavenge used bottle caps. Well, those people are absolutely right. Every single one. However, in case it's of use to anyone, I'll just leave this thing here. --- This project was largely inspired by Tokyo_Bird's Mini Containers that are designed to use standard pop bottle caps (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4900080). I loved the idea, but wanted a way to customize them more. Check out that project if you want some better-looking containers. --- I should also note that this project uses Adrian Schlatter's threadlib library for OpenSCAD (https://github.com/adrianschlatter/threadlib). I've reorganized it slightly and made minor modifications to the code to make it easier to embed into my project, but it's otherwise unchanged.
