Customizable Bike Mount for Modular Mounting System
cults3d
This thing is a gadget that mounts your phone on a bike using the Modular Mounting System. You can attach your phone firmly to the bike with a zip tie, thanks to the same adjustable phone clamp available from the original page. The mount is customizable for different phone sizes, handlebar diameters, and other dimensions. A minimum of 24mm total width is recommended to ensure a secure fit. Don't worry about the messy preview in the customizer - the exported STL file will be fine. However, keep in mind that the final model generated by the customizer may look different from the photos shown. I've updated the design after printing the first version, so refer to the STL file for the final look. To make this gadget, download the "M5 knob for phone v3" instead of the "v2" shown in the photos, as it has a reduced diameter that won't interfere with the handlebar. Print without support and set the diameter slightly smaller than the actual handlebar diameter to ensure strength and tension. For example, if your handlebar is 25.4mm, don't set the diameter any larger than 25.4mm in the customizer - otherwise, the mount will be very loose on the handlebar. Also, be aware that the model can warp due to its height and thickness ratio. I printed my first version in PLA without a brim or heated bed, which caused warping. Use proper settings to prevent this. The connection to the handlebar is inspired by the iPhone 5 bike mount designed by flowb. This is actually my very first model built using OpenSCAD.
