Customizable Atom Deluxe (every element preconfigured)
thingiverse
Choose your preferred element and print out a Bohr model representation of an atom. Remember, this isn't about the atom itself, but rather its Bohr model. Please provide feedback on your experience, and let me know if you discover any new elements to add! I'll happily incorporate them into my script, such as "Thingiversium." Exciting updates have been made! You can now customize a base for your printed atom through this link: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:116807. Additionally, this creation has been featured on the MakerBot blog: http://www.makerbot.com/blog/2013/07/23/thingiverse-3d-printing-atoms/, as well as the Adafruit blog: http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2013/07/25/3d-printable-bohr-models-of-every-element-customizable-atom-deluxe-by-roman_hegglin/, and another blog post here: http://32b.it/?p=442. Please be aware of an edit from 2013-10-23, as the customizer may have difficulty rendering atoms with a high number of electrons. Pre-rendered versions of these larger elements can be found here: [link]. Lastly, on 2013-12-05, improvements were made to the OPENSCAD script and optimized it for braille font. Check out the updated version here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:195834 or the braille-optimized version.
