Customizable Ankle Board 1-axis
thingiverse
This printable ankle board, designed by Michigan Tech's Open Sustainability Technology Research Group, is a cost-effective alternative to commercial versions that only costs materials for printing and plywood. Its unique feature allows customization of size in OpenSCAD, increasing difficulty as you improve. Print the STL with 25% infill on your open-source 3D printer, then cut a plywood circle (similar to commercial ankle boards at 16 inches diameter) and drill a hole in its center. Secure the printed hemisphere to the board using a hex nut/bolt, tightening from the top for easy hemisphere changes. An affordable and versatile option for rehabbing ankle injuries or improving balance.
