Customisable Spool (parametric)
thingiverse
This is a customisable spool that I designed in OpenSCAD. You should be able to customise most aspects of the spool to fit your spooling needs. Originally I designed a non-customisable spool to hold solder wire, but quickly figured out this would be a good opportunity to design a customisable part that I could use to organise/share other items in my workshop such as cables and thread. The design splits it into two pieces so you don't need use supports. You can achieve a press/friction fit, but can also use glue. This dependent on the tolerances of your printer. You can change the quality of the circle used for the outside flange to create a roll-resistant design like a hex/octagon. **To-do list:** - I will upload a diagram explaining all the parameters to help as a visual aid - Change some wording with the customiser parameters - Open up some parameters like spacing between the two parts
With this file you will be able to print Customisable Spool (parametric) with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Customisable Spool (parametric).
