Customisable Rod Holder
thingiverse
This adaptable rod support device can be utilized in numerous applications and was crafted to safeguard surfaces from direct contact with fasteners by means of friction retention. Initially created to hold a pole sustaining an elevated mobile over my baby's bassinet, a sleek model requiring cautious attachment. Two M5x10mm socket head screws are currently employed; however, screw diameter may be easily adjusted as needed. Upon examining the design in more depth, it becomes clear that protection from surface damage during attachment was paramount, necessitating a flexible component to apply even pressure without compromising structural integrity. This led to the incorporation of a slender, yielding strip engaging the rod-bearing pole while ensuring the fasteners' distance. Despite occasional complications arising when attempting modifications using the Customizer tool, it has consistently worked as intended when employed with OpenSCAD's interactive parameters, though further exploration will likely be necessary to address this issue.
