Customisable Prusa I3 Carriage Mount Hole Vanilla Based Structure
thingiverse
I made this modification so users can customize screw hole positions instead of adhering to specific model/variant requirements that may be dictated by distance or design. The models were developed based on Josef Prusa's vanilla SCAD script, then modified with Geeetech X carriage to extend arm for easier endstop detection. On Geeetech's prusa i3 series, extended arms are often mounted on X motor blocks and measured at approximately 45mm in length, a significantly longer dimension compared to standard 25mm LM8UU bearings. The structure has largely remained vanilla except for slightly widening the bottom section to fit Geeetech screws within belt straps. Update made on June 26th, 2015: Defaulted to Geeetech profile as default profile, replaced previous setting of using vanilla profiles. Removed individual STL and SCAD files previously uploaded which didn't have a screw hole. Uploaded two types of carriages, one for each mounting type. The included STL models are the base model without screws attached. For setup and printing, please download both STL and SCAD files, or extract both from the zip file and place them in the same folder. You will find a variable labeled 'type' within this code which you can use to customize your desired variant for screw mounting/hole positioning. Feel free to let me know if you need any more assistance with additional variants, I'll update the SCAD files accordingly.
