Custom Weights
prusaprinters
These are small containers I designed to create a range of custom weights. I needed a bobbin tension of 23g and also made plus or minus 5g weights as well. I used a scale that had a resolution of 0.1g and added metal scrap punches until I reached the needed weight. You can use what you like…bits of lead, ball bearings, sand, small nuts, washers. When I had the weight correct I snap on the lid and add a bit of CA.To check my bobbin tension I feed the thread through the cap hole then do a loop around the ball top…easy. The machine is a 503, “Rocketeer” from 1962…as old as I am :).
