Stand Out from the Rest in the Dark with this Revolutionary DIY Uber Light Box. The original design was too flimsy, so I've created separate files and increased the thickness for improved durability. You're free to sell these in your city, but I ask that you donate 10% of each sale to a local children's hospital in your state. I designed this box with versatility in mind, allowing you to add your own LED combo and create a customized light-up box for your car dash. If you plan to print it using a multi-extruder, download the .3mf files. The STL file contains the entire design, but it's not broken down into smaller parts to accommodate most beds. Each part measures 150mm x 150mm, so you'll need to separate them yourself. For single-extruder printing, simply snap the letters and lid components together when they're cool enough. Once assembled, secure the lens or lid with glue or adhesive to ensure a seamless finish. I recommend using Natural PETG Transparent for the letters and Uber logo, paired with Black PETG for added durability. These materials are resistant to heat, even in warm cars where drivers might forget to remove their light box at the end of the day. Installing LEDs is straightforward: line the box with foil using spray adhesive, then attach your LED strips around the edges or cut them to fit the center. Run the wires through the back and snap them into place using small holes. Depending on the lights you choose, the results should be impressive. I'm using dual 12-inch multi-function multi-color LEDs with a 12V plug, available at Auto Zone for approximately $40. Note that a PLA version is suitable only for those who remember to remove the light during the day and avoid placing it against the windshield.
