Custom tripod bracket adapter
thingiverse
This generator creates adapters for items with simple pivot joints that can be mounted in tripods and other mounts using most wedge/"shoe" quick release/fastener systems. It works well for many types of camera/video lights and tripods with quick release plates. By specifying the correct parameters, the original nuts/bolts can be reused in the printed adapter. Print Settings: Printer: FlashForge Finder Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Any Infill: 30% Notes: The object prints fine without need for rafts or supports (make sure "print" orientation is selected in Customizer before saving/creating). When printing in PLA, 30% infill generally provides enough strength/stiffness. Details of example STL file (Tripod_bracket_example.stl): The example file is an adapter to attach a Neewer CN-160 LED video light to a Davis & Sanford Traveler tripod and was created using the Customizer. It was created with the following options: Display-printing tab: $fn = 36 Orientation = 1 (view) Bracket-pivot tab: Tip_Radius = 7.5 Tip_Width = 20.24 Bracket_Length = 25.4 Bracket_Width = 14 Slot_Length = 21.8 Slot_Width = 5.7 Pivot-bolt tab: Nut_Size = 7.9 Nut_Depth = 3.5 Bolt_Diameter = 4.8 Bolt_Neck_Diameter = 11 Bolt_Neck_Depth = -3 Base tab: Base_X = 38.2 Base_Y = 0 Corner_Rounding = 30 Base_Z = 6.3 Wedge_Angle = 35 Wedge_Start = 1 Changing just the "Base_X" value from 38.2 to 28.3 creates an adapter to connect the lamp to a Targus TG-5060TR tripod, a small and somewhat flimsy tripod that is not great for typical cameras but okay with lightweight lamps.
