Customizer OpenSCAD enables users to create a variety of joiners for square tubes that can be used to build complex structures. This tool was inspired by comments on my previous square and rectangular tube cap and joiner generator. It only works with square tubes and can generate eight different types of connectors based on 90-degree angles. I Designed This This is an evolution of code I originally wrote to create square tubing plugs and joiners for a personal project, as well as to help me learn OpenSCAD. The original code was designed to support both square and rectangular tubes, allowing it to be customized for size and appearance. It was specifically written to utilize the Thingiverse Customizer and provide feedback in the event of bad input values. I have tried to write OpenSCAD code in a modular way. When I received a comment on my original plug and joiner thing suggesting that I create joiners capable of connecting multiple tubes into shapes, I realized it should be a straightforward modification. However, I ended up spending more time removing code supporting rectangular tubing than adding the ability to generate joining tabs on any surface of a cube. The generation of joining tabs is handled through the use of variables containing lists of rotation matrices and a "FOR" statement applying rotations to the invocation of the tab-building module. I am impressed with the power and flexibility of the "FOR" statement combined with list/matrix variables. Changes Updated March 30, 2017, to eliminate generation of internal surfaces.
