Custom Saber #1 - Aurora
thingiverse
I designed a custom saber to give away as an Easter bingo prize this year and think it turned out really well. It took about 16 hours total to print, plus another 6 for sanding, painting, and electronics installation. The saber is set up for a 1-inch diameter and will fit the electronics and hardware from The Custom Saber Shop. I used a 1-inch thin-walled blade and an old Nano Biscotte sound board from a saber retrofit I did some time back, which might be a bit too much for a printed saber but it's what I had lying around. The model is held together using 8-32 screws (2 set screws for the blade and LED retention, 6 button heads for the body, and 1 knurled head for pommel retention). If you print the model, please post a picture so I can see it; I'd really enjoy that! Anyway, hope you like it, and may the Force be with you.
