Custom replacement pen tip

While on vacation, I purchased an attractive fountain pen only to discover its inner workings were inadequate; it continually dried out when refilling with ink cartridges. To remedy the situation, I designed a custom pen tip that screwed into the barrel just as the original fountain pen assembly did and featured the same retaining collar for holding the cap in place. The difference, however, was this new pen tip housed a standard gel-ink rollerball cartridge instead of the troublesome fountain pen components.
