Custom Pedals For MFG Crosswind
thingiverse
These custom pedals were designed specifically for the top-notch MFG Crosswind flight simulation rudder pedals. I needed a narrower stance than what was possible with their adapter set, but that required clearing the pedals themselves to fit around the rudder mechanism. Rather than modifying the stock pedals, I came up with these with a classic retro NAA logo. The overall width at the pedals is 15.5 inches. The heels and toes attach securely with 1/4"-28 x 1.25" socket head cap screws. They seem incredibly sturdy. I designed the adapters to fit the metric bolts and nuts that come standard with the factory adapters. If you already have those, you're all set. The actual size of the bolts is unclear, but they appear similar to 1/4-20 and require a 5mm Allen hex key. The bolts that hold the adapters to the rudder mechanism are 30 mm in length, while the ones that secure the pedals to the adapters measure 25 mm. The nuts used are 10 mm. I printed the main pedal bodies upside down but with the heels and toes facing upwards so they could be printed without support structures. This requires two short adapters, two toes, and one each of right and left pedals as well as right and left heel components.
