Custom parts for Ultimaker 2 Aluminum Extrusion 3D printer
thingiverse
I've made some modifications to get it just right. The only things remaining from the original design are the x/y bearing blocks, motor mounts for x/y and the length of the aluminium bars. To avoid using prefabricated plastic parts, I designed my own x/y carts and hot-end mount. The steppers run at 24V and a separate 12V PSU powers heating (bed and hot-end) and the Arduino. Reed switch end-stops are encapsulated in custom-made brackets sealed with glue for extra security. Ramps 1.4 is paired with DRV8825 drivers, making it run smoothly! I've uploaded a short video showing a print of the gear set: https://youtu.be/pUc8rXbl3aM All my custom parts are included here. The bushings used are self-clinch and self-align SAE 840 bronze from spyraflo.com. The heat bed is supported by four pieces of 30x30 mm aluminum extrusion, each measuring 180 mm long. The fan duct for the hot-end can be found in the sources.
