Custom Motherboard Cover for Easy3DMaker
thingiverse
This is a replacement part for the Easy3DMaker printer. The original motherboard cover has significant flaws: Nearly no air outflow possibility exists due to cabling blockage. The back is open but all cables obstruct the airflow. A major issue arises from the cooling fan's location on top, causing two significant problems: When the heated bed is low for a tall print, the fan sucks in heated air. This can compromise print quality and accuracy. Also, if something small falls down at the edge of the bed, just above the fan, it may fall onto the motherboard, potentially causing damage or failure. This custom case features holes on the side to accommodate motor controllers, which tend to be hot. A failsafe inside them shuts down temporarily if too hot, leading to layer shifting issues. Adding heatsinks is recommended for these controllers to prevent overheating and improve print quality. The fan's relocation to the side prevents objects from falling into the printer. When the bed is low, the used air is probably cooler, reducing the risk of overheating. Warning: This cover will prevent the rotating filament spool holder at the bottom of the printer, which I consider pretty mediocre. A separate vertical filament spool holder is advised for better performance and reduced print interruption risks. A model with custom support is included due to issues encountered with automatically generated support.
