Custom Machining Jigs

This summer, I've had the leisure to work on less crucial projects, like a personalized chess set design that could potentially aid our engineering program. Student assistants would fabricate it for me. After completing lathe programs for all pieces, only the bishop's mitre slot and knight's nose remained. I pondered how to simplify it when an idea struck: 3D printing's strength lies in creating one-off, ultra-customized pieces. Thus, here are the custom machining jig parts that streamline finishing the bishop and knight for my bespoke chess set. Employing Solidworks, I designed the pieces and modeled the machining jigs through boolean subtraction.
