I just upgraded my K40 to use the Cohesion Mini control board and added their optional LCD screen as well, unlocking a whole new level of precision and control over my laser engraving projects. To make the upgrade, I drew inspiration from Mellowj's innovative design and adapted it to suit my specific needs, including centering the LCD screen perfectly. Given that I didn't have a potentiometer to regulate my laser's power, I opted for a streamlined approach that would allow me to get started quickly. The enclosure itself is made of 3mm transparent dark green acrylic, which provides an eye-catching backdrop for my project. To add some personality to the design, I used white spray paint to fill in the letters and bring them to life. This project was not only a fun challenge but also an opportunity to familiarize myself with Cohesion3D and LightBurn, two powerful tools that have taken my laser engraving game to the next level.
