This custom lock is a game-changer for the excellent print head created by dragon-shark. The original lock does an admirable job with PLA, but when working with ABS, you'll need superior airflow in the heatbreak to achieve optimal results. This specially designed lock is tailored to meet that specific requirement. You can still print the head body and lock in PLA even if your plan is to print with ABS, but keep in mind that high temperatures (such as those found in an enclosure) can cause the LM8UU to become loose over time. To avoid this issue, printing the head in ABS or PETG would be a better choice, with ABS being the more durable option due to its higher Vicat temperature. For optimal results, print the head body at 0.15mm, but consider using 0.1mm for the lock to ensure a secure fit.
